I firmly believe that mental health is just as important as physical health, and attending to your mental well-being is essential to living your best life. I have experience serving several specific populations, mainly children, adolescents, and young adults. However, I welcome the opportunity to help individuals of all ages, stages, and backgrounds.
I am communicative and collaborative in my approach and tailor my orientation based on your specific and unique needs through a warm, attentive, and empathetic lens.
Your matter and your feelings are valid. Adverse feelings without help can impact your overall health and well-being over time. I am eager and would love the opportunity to walk alongside you and encourage your journey to your best life through utilizing unbiased attentiveness, unconditional positive regard, and genuine empathy.
Hi! :) My name is Jillian Rausche, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor-Associate supervised by Melissa McGee, MA, LPC-S.
I completed graduate school at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, earning a Master of Science Degree in Clincal Mental Health Counseling. Throughout the duration of my graduate program I maintained a 4.0 GPA leading to the honor of induction to my university's chapter of Phi Kappa Phi, National Honor Society.
During my time in graduate school, I applied and was ecstatic to interview and finally receive an offer to become one of two selected graduate research assistants to an esteemed professor and scholar, Dr. Jeong-Han Kim.
As a Graduate Research Assistant I had the opportunity to co-author methodology sections for the articles researched; which included positive psychology studies on children with autism, cortisol levels, and peer versus parent-mediated interventions. This experience opened my eyes to my genuine love of researching but also the incredible need for and lack of relevant studies concerning those with autism.
As a neurodivergent individual, diagnosed with ADHD in my late teens, I am compassionate, sensitive, and able to empathize with adults, adolescents, and children who also have a neurodevelopmental diagnosis of any kind.
I have come to discover (with time) the strengths and the many positive-aspects of having ADHD. I am passionate about advocating for awareness in this realm especially among children who may otherwise go unnoticed or "slip through the cracks" without proper diagnosis & treatment. If you fall in this category and are struggling-- please know that there is absolutely nothing wrong with you!
We are simply wired differently and that's okay! Different does not = wrong :)
